Selection
Morphological selection
The basis of the work consists in staying within the standards of the breed established by the FCI applied in beauty exhibition and therefore to the LOF. In this sense, all our puppies are temporarily registered in the Book of French Origins pending their confirmation as soon as their 12 months in exhibition.
Silver
The appearance of dresses with shades of silver grey is an axis of selection you appreciate strongly and still little present at the CLT. You will find in the gallery some photos of dogs from previous litters wearing this physical trait.
Classic
«Classic» is deliberately used here to denote the most frequently encountered appearance at the level of the breed, a grey-yellow color with some hints of fawn.
Behavioural selection
The behaviour is taken into account in the selection.
Our primary goal is to raise family dogs, who can share your daily life with your children and other animals.
Here, dogs lead a life in community and are taught to know-how and respect for each one.
The dogs from our breeding are able to easily integrate their new family and their environment. We also found an interesting predisposition to work.
This learning facility is a comfort during adoption, but also a gateway to the canine disciplines. It is not yet widespread in France but I am convinced that the Czech is clearly able to have fun in dog sport.
Genetic selection
We take the trick of working with a fairly low coefficient of inbreeding, at least less than 5% over five generations. Why? This offers a more important genetic brewing, giving the possibility to release unique puppies, avoid tares and open pedigrees at the level of the breed. The search for preservation of physical traits through marriages in IOC «top» is not used here and, personally, seems to me inappropriate and partly responsible for many morphological defects including hypertypated breeds.
We focus on the reproductive individuals and more particularly how they “trace” their offspring, that is, to identify the majority traits left behind.
In addition to the coefficient of consanguinity, the health of the breeding dogs as well as those of their ascendants is taken into account on criteria relative to the breed (hip, elbow, myelopathy and expression or not of different unwanted genes).
Percentage of wolf gene: between 25% and 30%
